Facebook recently announced its new mobile app 'Paper'. Paper is a news reader - cum - facebook app, but way better that standard fb app experience.
Paper is a new news reader app that presents news stories in a horizontal swipe list fashion. You can subscribe to your favourite news categories, and group them together. The app can also act as substitute of your standard facebook app. Paper can show you updates from friends in a more delightful experience. You can also post facebook updates, while reading to your favourite news.
The user interface is completely new and refreshing. App has no buttons or other UI elements on the screen. Full screen is utilised for app, and complete absence of core around it gives more presentation space and thus better user experience. Any new user will take some time to adjust to gestures, but no worries app will keep reminding of those, as and when you feel stuck.
This is 1st app from facebook creative team, and it seems wait is totally worth it. It will be released for iPhones on 2nd February. The bigger question is will this app replace standard facebook app on your home screen? If it does, was that, what facebook intended?
